About Diane

Diane Rodriguez finds inspiration in subjects that are very different from one another. Variety in subject matter is an exciting challenge.

Diane has drawn and painted images as far back as she can remember. “My childhood picture books, as well as my mother’s cookbooks can confirm this.”

After a career in the medical and dental fields she decided to return to school for a degree in art. In 1989 Diane graduated cum laude from California State University at Hayward (now, East Bay) with a BA degree in Art Education emphasizing studio art.

Diane studied with talented artists such as Carolyn Lord, Judy Morris, Dale Laitinen, Tony Couch, Tom Lynch, Mel Ramos, Carolyn Maddox, and more recently Bryon Mark Taylor.

Since then, painting has become a passion. Her work has been accepted into juried shows, which have presented her with awards of merit and honorable mentions.

She is an active member of the Livermore Art Association, Pleasanton Art League, Alamo Danville Art Society and the California Watercolor Association.
